I baked these very yummy cookies yesterday. Thin and crispy and yummy! The best chocolate chip cookies I've ever baked. Really! I've never been very good at baking tasty choco chip cookies. I blame it on being raised in a house where our yummy cookies were polvorones or cuernitos--Mexican cookies. These are very yummy cookies but so different from the all-American chocolate chip cookie. No more worries for me though, I've finally figured out the perfect recipe for thin & crispy chocolate chip cookies. I'm sure the thick & chewy recipe will be just as tasty!
So what is the perfect recipe? Well, it can be found in this cookbook that I learned about from Amy at the Angry Chicken. I don't have very many cookbooks because I love the recipes from the few I do have, plus you can't beat the recipes from the Everday Food magazine. But I just had to buy this amazing book after checking it out from the library and realizing that it's the kind of book I'll want to keep checking out. I better just own my own copy. It's probably the only cookbook I'll ever need to own for all of the "best recipes". Not only does it contain great recipes, but is very detailed about techniques and successes & failures experienced to acheive the best recipe. I think the book is from "America's Test Kitchen", the cooking series on PBS.
Anyhow, I highly recommend it!

I'm hoping to make the craft day soon too, and I love that cookbook! It was a thoughtful Christmas gift from my father in law (the family cook) and I'm staining, er, trying at least three new recipes a week. Their scone recipe (courtesy of my husband) is the best I've tasted. Ever. And the maple pork loin is amazing. Actually, I can't think of a bad one I've tried...I'm moving the thin and crispies up to the top of my list, tho!
