She hurt my feelings

summer dress summer dress

I made this toddler summer dress from McCall's M4817. It was quite easy but time-consuming.

I would love to post a picture of Maria wearing it but she refuses to wear it! She's a real "princess" I tell ya.

Here's what happened:
I was so excited to show it to Maria and have her wear it and initially she was excited to wear it. She put it on and even pretended to dance like Cinderella. But after going up the stairs and tripping over it, she told me to take it off and that she didn't like it. I was so sad! She really hurt my feelings. Guess that was the first of many more situations totally out of my control. I gotta toughen up. Parenthood. Argh!!!

I think my Lily likes the idea of my making her clothes than she likes the clothes themselves. She has quite a few dresses hanging in her closet that she refuses to wear. oh well. I think your dress looks super cute!

I think it's adorable! Well maybe she'll warm up to it! You'll have to show her the "cinderella" lift your skirt up method!

It looks like an awesome dress for twirling...Josie eschewed dresses completely until she realized what a twirl will do. Then she said "Oh Mommy, I want to wear skirts and dresses all the time!" Just before she ran off to play trains...

Sorry, even though ebay sounds like a good idea, Maria decided she likes the dress!!! She was a flower girl in a wedding over the weekend and she chose to wear it as her "traveling" dress to the wedding. Today she even said it was beautiful! :)

She did figure out the twirling thing and loves the fullness!
